Chicken Pot Pie-- Food Storage Recipe

Chicken pot pie

Boil 2 cups of water in the microwave
Throw in all the veggies, meat and cheese you like; or anything else really! Choose freeze dried because they rehydrate the best and fastest. I used about 1/3 cup of each of these except the cheese.

1/3 cup Peas FD
1/3 cup green beans FD
1/3 cup chicken dices FD
1/4 cup cheddar cheese FD
reconstitute by mixing with a spoon in the warm water for a few minutes. Let it sit.

For creaminess you can add sour cream powder to your cream of chicken soup or do what I did

1/3 cup of potato beads to 1 cup hot water. Mix till smooth. Add 1 can cream of chicken soup

Drain your reconstituted meat, cheese and vegetables

Mix all together.

Lay 3 crescent rolls stretched out on the bottom of a casserole dish.
Spread the mixture on the rolls
And lay the last 3 crescent rolls on top

I actually made 2 casseroles with this recipe! Can you believe it! Freeze dried is amazing. When reconstituted it triples in weight so you don't need as much as you'd think!

Bake according to roll directions
375 for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Turned out so great!!! My kids ate it and so did my husband!

This recipe was an idea from a party guest! Thank you so much Rachel!!!

I hope you enjoy!

And feel free to change it up.

FD Spinach, FD mushroom, FD onions and FD mozarella
FD sausage crumbles, powdered eggs scrambled and FD colby cheese
FD ground beef, tomato powder reconstituted and FD onions.

Wow, the list can go on and on!

I like being able to see at-a-glance what's in my storage now, & what I need to update. The Balance of Nutrition chart is a bit confusing at first, but does show if I need to concentrate more on storing a particular item.
